Operations Co-ordinator

We are looking for an experienced, efficient and organised person to oversee the administrative, commercial and financial operations of the New England Regional Art Museum.

The Operations Co-ordinator is a new role responsible for providing efficient administrative and operational support to all aspects of NERAM’s activities with a specific focus on day-to-day office management and commercial  operations; financial systems; staff rosters; supporting ongoing resourcing, planning and delivery of programs and activities; Customer Relationship Management (CRM) activities including managing membership, sponsor and donor databases; and dealing with external contractors.

Experience in developing and implementing office management, financial systems, payroll and database management is essential.

Salary: $50,000 + super

Intern Positions

NERAM recognises the importance of internships in enabling students to gain valuable workplace experience and develop industry-specific abilities in a chosen area. NERAM values the contribution that interns make to the workplace and provides the opportunity for students to develop personally and professionally in a supportive environment.

Preference is given to students who are currently enrolled in a recognised Australian tertiary educational institution.  Students studying the visual arts, arts/museum administration, conservation or an area in which NERAM has an identified expertise will be given priority over other applicants.

NERAM provides a flexible and practical internship program which offers placements in a combination of different areas to provide as broad an experience as possible.  Placements can be negotiated in terms of length and of hours worked.  Areas will include:

  • Visitor experience
  • Marketing
  • Museum of Printing
  • Fundraising/Functions
  • Public Programs
  • Curatorial Research
  • Registration and Collection Management

Basic accommodation in our on-site Artist-in-Residence area, comprising a separate bedroom, bathroom and living area and basic kitchen requirements, is available free to any NERAM intern during the term of their internship.  A small security bond will be required which will be refundable at the end of the internship.

The New England Regional Art Museum offers work experience in a sincere effort to provide a quality, diversified program in which students from a variety of educational disciplines have the opportunity to apply traditional academic classroom learning to actual work situations within the Museum, in order to develop personal and professional skills for future career development and placement.
