Aboriginal bark painting in Australia has a long tradition extending thousands of years. Totemic subjects and mythological spirits are recurrent motifs communicated through a mixture of figurative and delicately executed decorative techniques.
From The Tree displays 12 bark paintings from Central Arnhem Land and the surrounding region including Groote Eylandt selected from the NERAM collection by Bevan Quinlin, Curator of the Armidale Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place.
