The ARTEXPRESS Teachers’ Day provides a non-registered professional learning opportunity for Visual Arts, Photomedia and Design teachers to explore factors that support high level student outcomes, reflected in ARTEXPRESS bodies of works. The workshop will provide a deeper understanding of the practical elements of the Stage 6 HSC Visual Arts syllabus.
ARTEXPRESS is a joint partnership of the NSW Department of Education and the NSW Education Standards Authority in association with the New England Regional Art Museum.

10.15 – 10.45 Morning Tea
10.45 – 12.45 Teacher PL Forum: Developing Teacher Skills in Visual Arts Stage 6
Brooke Garrett, Arts Coordination Officer DET, will present the 136pp Teacher resource booklet she has developed which provides mock assessment tasks and exams and a Student resource section. Brooke will also discuss what elevates a work, HSC marker feedback, before finishing with a Q&A session.

1.30 – 2.15 Demonstration of materials by Armidale Framing & Art Supplies
2.15 – 3.00 Discussion of student works to analyse analyse trends and marker feedback, overview of the Arts Unit, summary and close.
