Lounge Room Collector #5: Benoni’s Collection

The Lounge Room Collector Series explores the extraordinary, eclectic and sometimes surprising private collections of the New England region. The fifth exhibition in the series features artwork from the collection of long-time NERAM supporter and Packsaddle co-founder, the late Benoni Pearson. Benoni’s collection is generational and personal, stemming from her mother Jessie Edye who was a great advocate of art and culture, traits Benoni inherited. Jessie’s collection of 1930s-40s Australian art was preserved and added to with more recent acquisitions by Benoni, which continues through to the third generation with her three daughters.
