Make It Tenterfield | Workshop

We are very excited to announce that Make It Tenterfield will be visiting NERAM to run two unique workshops. This will be  fantastic opportunity to learn the art of eco dyeing, a natural textile art form with endless possibilities and/ or nature journaling, where students can record their observations, their thoughts, and their feelings about what they see in nature. These are two separate workshops running on the same day, book into both to receive a discount, please see below for more information.

Eco Dyeing Workshop with Kay Gray 

Kay has lived in Tenterfield for 15 years and loves the seasonal changes of the area. She has  always loved plants of all kinds. ( is also President of the Tenterfield Horticultural Society)

Kay was introduced to Eco Printing well into retirement and was fascinated by the endless possibilities of using leaves and plants both for colour and printing on fabrics. She enjoys printing on paper, wool, linen, bamboo and silk, all natural fibres. Exploring printing on cotton and linen clothing, often giving a new life to re- cycled items is a wonderful journey. The reveal when unrolling is always a nice surprise. At the end of the day participants will have created and take home an eco-dyed hand loomed wool scarf.

Nature Journaling Workshop with Louise Kear 

This is a fun workshop where you will create a nature journal using vintage books, stamping, stenciling, gesso textures, natural leaves and spraying colour. You will learn how to make a range of embellishments like pockets and tags. These will help you bring to life your nature theme in tactile and unusual ways.

All materials including journal will be supplied. The beautiful Black Gully behind NERAM could be the perfect source of inspiration.

*To book using your NSW Discover Voucher, please come in and pay at the NERAM front counter before they expire at the end of June 2022, unfortunately we are unable to redeem the vouchers over the phone and we are only able to redeem one voucher per day.

A minimum number of students required for workshop to proceed, please book and pay before 9am Wednesday 15 June 2022  to ensure classes go ahead.

As classes run on minimum numbers once bookings close, we are unable to offer refunds.

If the class does not proceed, you will be refunded any cash amount and credited the NSW Discover Voucher value.
