The course is open to all skill levels and will allow for personal expression. You are free to develop your own works.
For those who are starting out, bring some materials from the list below, and some reference material, i.e. photos, images of artworks that inspire you, objects you like etc, and Kerry will help get you started.
Throughout the term you will be looking at the basic elements of art, principles of design, genres, techniques, and the importance of drawing.

Cost: $225.00 General / $215.00 Friends of NERAM + $15 Cleaning Fee (to adhere to COVID-19 hygiene protocol) for 10 weeks
CLEANING FEE: TO ADHERE WITH COVID-19 HYGIENE PROTOCOLS, THE PACKSADDLE STUDIO WILL UNDERGO A PROFESSIONAL CLEAN AFTER EVERY LESSON TO ENSURE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR CLASS FACITILATORS AND STUDENTS. FOR TERM 4, STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR THE TERM FEE PLUS CLEANING FEE ($1.50 PER LESSON) TO ALLOW US TO FACILITATE CLASSES AT THIS TIME.

Please note: For those students who have paid for Term 1 art classes that were cut short due to COVID-19, there will be two additional makeup lessons running on Wednesday 30th September and 7th October 2020 following the 10 week term, from 10am – 3pm each week.

Kerry Gulliver is a skilled artist and educator who has exhibited regularly in Armidale, Sydney and Tamworth. She has trained in visual arts, animation, colour theory and graphic design and works regularly with community and other groups to run a range of art courses.
Suggested materials for class: Please bring any reference materials that inspire you.
Paints (acrylic is the most practical, but you may prefer oils), brushes, canvas or paper. Heavier papers are better to paint on, such as 80gsm or higher. Kerry likes the medium or rough textured paper. Cheaper paper is OK for experimentation.
For drawing, Cartridge paper (any size), pencils in a range of hardnesses (but more in the soft range), rubbers, crayons, coloured pencils and any other materials that you like to work with.
IN LIGHT OF COVID-19, THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL HYGIENE PROCEDURES THAT ALL ART CLASS ATTENDEES WILL BE ASKED TO FOLLOW THROUGHOUT TERM 4. BOOKED STUDENTS WILL BE ADVISED ON DETAILS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE NEW TERM.
