November 30, 2019 - December 1, 2019$270
This is a two day workshop that will explore the artistic techniques of traditional Asian brushwork such as bamboo and cherry blossoms, and how these unique medium properties can be used in an experimental and contemporary way.
Taught by experienced teacher and artist, Trish Petersen, Trish has taught Traditional Asian brushwork painting workshops for over 25 years. By the time this workshop begins Trish will have just returned from Asia where she has been extending her study and painting practice of contemporary Asian brushwork.
This workshop is for anyone interested in having fun learning oriental brushwork and experiencing one of Asia’s cultural traditions. Everyone can learn how to do it, even those who haven’t held a paint brush since they were a child.
These methods can be used not only to draw, make paintings or collage works, but they are also are ideal for use in a journal, to paint pottery, making cards or even to make a painting to accompany poetry or haiku.
