DESCRIPTION:In this workshop Lost In Palm Springs exhibition artist Sam Cranstoun will guide participants in how to create a series of paper sculptures inspired by the humble breeze block. \nBy exploring the rich design legacy of this easily recognisable building material\, participants will create a range of delicate but bold objects that elevate these everyday objects found in their neighbourhoods. \nUsing a combination of drawing\, sculpture and site specific installation\, participants will find awe and wonder in the domestic. Taking inspiration from pre-existing breeze block designs\, and using a range of processes that include drawing\, cutting and folding\, workshop participants will create intricate yet striking origami-like\, 3-dimensional objects. \nAll materials supplied.
