Join us for the first in a series of workshops that will be run by printmaker Rhonda Ellem throughout 2022.
Introduction to Wallpaper Printing Using Shaped Lino Blocks is a two-day workshop held over two consecutive Sundays where participants are guided through the design and printing process to create two drops of wallpaper using shaped lino blocks.
Colour modulation, block placement and alignment, image layering and implied movement are introduced as layout devices. Participants will walk away with printed wallpaper, several carved lino blocks and a sampler book.
Lino, wallpaper, paint and book-making materials (please see more detail below) are supplied. Lino tools are provided for use during the workshop. The course is designed to run on two consecutive Sundays to allow time for the carving of the blocks in the interim.

Where | Packsaddle Studio, access external at the rear of the NERAM building.
Materials Supplied | All materials are supplied for the printing of 2 drops of wallpaper and the making of a sampler book. A basic set of lino tools is provided during the workshop but if you have your own set please bring them. There will be extra items to assist in the design process that we will ask you to bring along on day 1 and day 2, a list will be sent to you after your enrolment.
Class size: 4 to 6 – limited spaces so please be sure to book fast.
