Fins, Fetlocks & Feathers is an exhibition by Mornington Peninsula (VIC)–based artist Julie Edgar, presenting an expressive collection of prints celebrating sea creatures, horses, and birds. While Edgar is widely recognised for her bronze portrait sculptures, she is equally passionate about printmaking, a technique central to this body of work.
In this exhibition birds feature prominently, creatures that Julie feels a strong personal connection to, many works inspired by the range of species that visit her studio. Edgars marine subjects draw on childhood memories and observation of rock pools as well as an ongoing concern for ocean ecosystems, while her horse imagery reflects a lifelong appreciation of their strength, intelligence, and companionship.
Together, these works form a personal and reflective exhibition shaped by memory, observation, and a deep respect for the natural world.
Edgar will be giving a free Artist Talk at 5:30pm, 31 July on opening night, please see below to book your free ticket.
