Experience being a portrait artist in the Packsaddle studio, learning to draw the shapes and character of a face. Artists in the Archibald paint their subjects from a number of sittings. This is called ‘painted from life’. We can’t do that in the studio, but you can have fun drawing and painting from a photo. What makes that face in your photo different to other faces? Why did you choose your subject (person)? How do you draw their nose sticking out from their face?

Archibald Prize 2021 / Family Weekend!
To celebrate the Archibald Prize 2021 at NERAM we invite families with children of all ages to come along to view the exhibition and engage in artmaking activities with a local artist. Simply purchase a ticket to view the exhibition during the weekend of the 11th and 12th of June to participate in artmaking activities including portraiture exercises, scavenger hunts and a children's trail.
