En Plein Air | Holiday Workshop

Plein air painting, is the act of painting outdoors. We are excited to be hosting our own En Plein Air Workshop in Black Gully. The workshop will start with a tour through the NERAM Hinton Collection where you will be able to seek inspiration from a variety of works, followed by a guided painting session where you will learn the basics of landscape painting in the outdoors.

ARTEXPRESS: Student Workshop

The ARTEXPRESS Students’ Day is an opportunity for Visual Arts, Design and Photomedia students to investigate the conceptual and material qualities of bodies of work on display at the ARTEXXPRESS exhibition at NERAM. The day consists an engaging learning workshop for students to enhance their understanding of the Stage 6 HSC syllabus, discussions about what makes a great VAPD, and a practical arts activity.

Workshop | Beginner Bookbinding – Japanese Style Four-Hole Bindings

Beginner Bookbinding – Create an album

Julie McCarthy is collaborating with Friends of NERAM to present a series of workshops on bookbinding for beginners. This is a repeat by popular demand of her first workshop, where participants will learn some basic bookbinding techniques that will enable them to create a journal, simple album, or sketch book. Instrunoodles | School Holiday Workshop

In this two hour course we’ll be introducing sculptural principles to make and decorate some awesome, fully functional, pool noodle horns. We will be using low temperature hot glue guns, picnic cutlery and of course pool noodles to create magnificent musical instruments with crazy embellishments, only limited by your imagination. Colourful Garden Prints | School Holiday Workshop

Have fun making unique colourful prints inspired by the NERAM gardens. We will visit the exhibition The Blade: Australia’s love affair with lawn, collect plant cuttings and natural materials from the grounds around the Museum, then use these materials to create layered prints with monotypes and stencils.
