Join us at NERAM for an invigorating artist talk with Side Gallery artists Col Mac, Rhianna Phillips, Jessica Mc Nicol and Samuel Kiernan.
The artists will be discussing their current exhibition, Roadtrip: A Residency, wherein the group immersed themselves in Armidale over an intensive weekend encounter early in the year. The experience was designed as both a creative experiment and a site-responsive experience, with the project asking what happens when artists step outside their familiar routines and studio environments to engage with a new place.
The resulting works capture a range of personal and material responses to place, shaped by exchange and the distinctive character of the New England landscape.
