Workshop | Beginner Bookbinding – Japanese Style Four-Hole Bindings

Term 3 2021 | Advanced Painting (Continuing)

A weekly, self-directed, advanced painting and drawing group, which meets in the Packsaddle Studio at NERAM from 10am - 3pm each Thursday. This group is an off-shoot of Ross Laurie’s previous advanced painting classes and suits those who have previously attended Ross’s classes or have a similar background in painting and drawing. There is no regular tutor, but the group conducts a weekly critique of the day’s work each afternoon.

Summer Art Camp 2022

We are excited to bring you Summer Art Camp 2022, a fantastic fun-filled 3-day event. Children will engage with NERAM’s current exhibitions, visit the Aboriginal Cultural Keeping Place, and partake in artmaking and performance activities with local Anaiwan educators as well as experiment with printmaking and collage methods with local artists. With at least two art making activities each day, whether your child comes along for 1 day or 3 they will learn a variety of techniques, experiment with different styles and mediums, and cultivate their own artistic voice.

Wallpaper printing workshop 2: half-drop repeat lino block

Young Archie Workshop for Primary Aged Children

Experience being a portrait artist in the Packsaddle studio, learning to draw the shapes and character of a face. Artists in the Archibald paint their subjects from a number of sittings. This is called ‘painted from life’. We can’t do that in the studio, but you can have fun drawing and painting from a photo. What makes that face in your photo different to other faces? Why did you choose your subject (person)? How do you draw their nose sticking out from their face?
