NERAM open again with new exhibition

NERAM has reopened to the public and on Friday 19 June will launch a new exhibition of works by Walcha artist Paula Jenkins. “We are so excited to welcome people back to NERAM and to reopen with this fabulous exhibition by a local artist” said NERAM Director Rachael Parsons.

Riverbeds & Spinifex is a culmination of Paula’s travels to the remote and arid environments of the Finke River in Central Australia and Fowlers Gap near Broken Hill. This body of work aims to portray the unique colours and impressions of these areas which Paula feels are “quintessential Australia.”

“While the works in this exhibition are inspired by the dry outback, Paula’s vivacious mark-making and use of vibrant hues embed the work with such vitality and joy” commented NERAM Curator Belinda Hungerford. “You can’t help but feel uplifted when looking at these paintings” Belinda continued. “These works really are a tonic for the trying times we have all been experiencing” Rachael Parsons added.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions limiting the number of people gathering in a space at one time, there will be an opening day for Riverbeds & Spinifex running from 10am until 7pm on Friday 19 June. Bookings are essential so please head to NERAM’s website or call the gallery on 6772 5255 to book your spot. Paula will be in the gallery between 3pm – 7pm.

Riverbeds & Spinifex by Paula Jenkins will run until Sunday 26 July 2020. Please check NERAM’s website for opening hours.
