Join with local artists, printmakers, print collectors and print enthusiasts for a day of talks, music, food and wine at the Printer’s Picnic, an open day at the Museum of Printing as part of the 2018 Wimble’s Wayzgoose event on Sunday 8 April 2018.
The day will include a pop-up print exhibition, talks by local and visiting artists about their work and practice, demonstrations of various printing techniques and processes by members of the Black Gully Printmakers, hands-on printing activities, a print swap by artists and the famous ‘BIG PRINT’ event
There will also be live music by local acts, food by Ultimate BBQ catering and local craft beer and wine available for purchase.
“The Printer’s Picnic is a great opportunity to enjoy meeting with artists to find out more about what they do and how they do it,” said Robert Heather, Art Museum Director. “It will also enable you to learn more about how prints are made, the different printmaking techniques and have a go at creating a print yourself.”
“The BIG PRINT activity also gets everyone excited about making a large scale woodblock print inspired by the Wimble Collection here at NERAM’s Museum of Printing and everyone can get involved.”
